In the work “Finita la Commedia,” the artist continues a dialogue with Maurizio Cattelan’s iconic piece “Comedian,” which challenged traditional notions of artistic value. Here, instead of a banana duct-taped to a wall, we see its embodiment in pure gold, suspended by an almost invisible thread from the ceiling in the empty space of a gallery. This work is not only a response but also a provocation, urging a reevaluation of what it means to be valuable in the world of art.

The work explores the paradox of the art market, where an ordinary banana was sold for millions of dollars, while a golden banana—crafted from a material of eternal value—finds itself devalued. Gold, traditionally a symbol of luxury and permanence, in this context becomes merely a backdrop for a more powerful commentary: in the realm of conceptual art, true value is determined not by material but by idea, media resonance, and context.
